Finding Myself

When I stood outside the door of the church of Saint Paul’s Richmond,November 1998 after coming back from Saudi Arabia, I knew within the depths of my soul I was ready and willing to put aside all my worldly egoistic selfish habituated lifestyle of all sorts in order to open my mind and heart to learn the ways of healing, new life and new birth, to anything that might help me end suffering.Although,I did not know what or how am I to proceed along this new path…..the main thing was taking the first step to be humbled and with the sincerity and right intention of surrendering to the unknown with courage! Then began the listening to the ‘inner call’ in sitting quietly in the empty church. At first I did not know what I was truly doing but it seemed so peaceful and sacred…..On a daily basis without fail,I was there in the empty church sitting with my heart full of pain and suffering that I was becoming more fully aware of. What was I searching for, what was I asking for, what did I find by sitting quietly?………………………………I found Myself and all the treasures Within.I try to be of help and wish to share those gems through my book. https://www.celestehoedenauthor.com

Meaningful Time Alone

Being alone, the significance of taking time to quiet ourselves, time to reflect, renew and make changes…to not be afraid of witnessing our inner selves. We can start this moment by doing however little where we are……we can strive to make time in the later part of the night when all are asleep or getting up early on in the morning or any ‘down/break’ time during the day to sit and reflect/breathe in and out/learn to meditate/pray/say mantras, visualize (all in the knowing to end unnecessary sufferings and finding peace of mind) a few minutes, no need to be hard on ourselves….always flexible and easy to simply be.By starting out this way, we can learn to be aware and find some comfort to retreat to in difficult moments.Whatever we may be doing,we can practice the awareness of bringing gentleness and kindness towards ourselves and to others…..remembering to always be flexible with ourselves is a factor so we wont ‘break’when things don’t go as we expect or that we don’t expect too much of ourselves and others…………

What might be our Spiritual Agenda?

What is our spiritual agenda for the day?for now?apart from having a little fun, and carrying out duties, work, chores and other mundane activities.
Could it be the practice of being kind in the face of unkindness?
Could it be making an assertive effort in spending a few minutes time alone to self-reflect,to listen to the heart,to touch the heart?,to rest the mind(learning to meditate)?
Could it be allowing the self to be Present/Aware of intentions,thoughts,actions,reactions,speech/words.
Could it be feeling of gratitude to someone(a stranger,an enemy)to life itself, to a situation, perhaps offering a good deed in thankfulness not only to whomever that made you feel good but reaching out into the unknown to witness that True Self of charity coming from within.
And it could be more noble agendas that the creative heart wants to be opened up to,not only in giving, but in being not afraid to receive goodness from others(without having any motive to mistrust, without further expectations,or misunderstandings or being doubtful about).

Worldly distractions provide a platform to forget the True Self.
Spiritual endeavours, provide the connection of remembrance of our True self.
